Buy probiotic yogurt culture and make your own yogurt. Most store bought NZ yogurt and yogurt powder mixes have so many thickeners, sugar, preservatives and artificial flavours in them that making your own natural yogurt is worth considering. It is also a lot cheaper, even if you have to buy the milk.
This yogurt culture keeps very well in the freezer for many months and contains 5 sachets in each pack, each sachet cultures 2 liters of milk. All you need to make yogurt at home is a thermos flask, an easi-yo type flask or an electric heat pad. Just add our probiotic yogurt culture to your milk and leave it in the flask to thicken at 40℃ for 6-8 hours.
Your fresh yogurt will keep for a week in the fridge and if you strain it through cheese cloth you can make a nice soft cheese. This yogurt culture is a freeze-dried yogurt culture containing Bifidobacterium species, Lactobacillus acidophilus and Streptococcus thermophilus.
